The first part of August I decide that the girls need a much deserved vacation so off we went to spend some time with my Aunt and Uncle. What a wonderful couple of days. It took us about 10 1/2 hours to drive down there. We got stuck in traffic for an hour on the high way and the ac on my van broke.. But all in all we made it safely.. The girls were amazing and it was a great drive. Beautiful Country we live in.. We arrived on Monday at about 7:30 our time had dinner and just enjoyed being out of the van and spending time with family. On Tuesday morning we got a slow start and headed out to get my van fixed. Then off we went to a gorgeous national park.. Breath taking.. pics to follow. We walked across a movable bridge and swam at the bottom of a waterfall. What a great day. When we were all drowned rat and starving we headed for home got ready and went out for dinner. Wednesday morning we woke up and off we went to this community park with water slides and and 18 foot diving board. It didn't look high but believe me it was. There was water slides and lots of water for us to spend the day in. We enjoyed lunch there and after a long day we enjoyed a quiet evening. On our last day the girls decided that they wanted to go shopping so off we went to the mall. Enjoyed time together laughing and shopping. Friday morning we got up and headed for home.. The girls were great.. The last 2 hours took the longest but all in all we will definitely be going back..

Nash Family Reunion

At the end of July we headed up to Aunt Kate's in Baldwin MI. What a great time with family, good food, rafting down the river, movies and girls having a great time with there cousins that live in Utah. We also had a great time getting to know my cousin Bryce whom I haven't seen in probably 20 years. What a great time!! We were able to spend the night this year which was fun for the girls to sleep in the house and wake up with everyone.. My dad and uncle Gary make the best breakfasts ever. Hook n Horn will be missed but Aunt Kate's was a great close second. Also my cousin Lindsey and her adorable boys came up for the day on Friday..:) Awesome weekend.. We missed Kamber as she was our West spending time with Allen's brother Brad his wife Emily and there 6 boys.

Alissa's Birthday Party

Alissa had about 9 of her friends come over for her Birthday! We had her party in July because there was no time in June with Girls Camp and Youth Conference!! They all had a great time..

4th of July

We have some great friends that we were able to spend the 4th of July with this year. We started out the day by going to the parade, we then left the parade and went to the Emery's for lunch with a house full of friends! Kamber, Alissa and I went with Susan York to the craft fair and Allen, Lauren, Madison, and Emma went back to Yorks house to swim in the pool. We spend the rest of the after noon swimming and spending time with friends. From there we went to the fireworks. The girls played with sparklers as we waited for the fireworks to start. As they began the weather was beautiful and the fireworks were great... The evening came to an end with tired girls and a great day! Yet another great 4th of July

Kamber received an awesome award for the month of January. There is very few freshmen that receive this award. One of her teachers writes a letter of recommendation, then the principal reviews the letter and she was picked. Great job Kami we are very proud of you

Hello Everyone.. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. The girls were spoiled rotten. We started working on finishing our basement so that has been very exciting. We are putting paint on the walls this weekend. Our goal is to get Kamber in her bedroom before her birthday in Feb.. Wish us luck. I will post photo's soon..

Kamber's 1st Homecoming dance 2010

Kamber went to her 1st homecoming dance last night and had a great time. We started the day with some last minute shopping had lunch together and went to her friend Amber's house to get her hair done. We then went to her friend Kellie's house (pictured with Kam in the Pink dress) We then went to a country club where there was a group of about 40 girls and boys to get there pictures taken and have dinner together ( ie Pizza and pop) Also in the pictures with Kam is my niece Abby ( in the White dress) and her date Taylor.. People mover and Greek town

So Saturday we wake up and spend a quiet morning at the hotel. We decided to set out for the day and go to the zoo. We get down town and they told us that the zoo is full and we would have to wait a while before we can get in. We went and ate lunch at Taco Bell and decide what we are going to do the rest of the day. The weather had changed to freezing cold so we decided to head down town to the train called the people mover. We went into the parking garage park the van and head outside to our surprise it was incredibly windy. Needless to say we were not dressed appropriately. We all had shorts on and short sleeve shirts. We took off running to the nearest shelter to get out of the wind. We just laughed about how windy it was. We took some pictures while we wait for the train and froze. The first train comes around and it was packed full with fans from the Red Wings game. We decided to split up and squeeze on the next train. It was so full we just laughed and the girls could not see a thing. We run to the restaurant and got seated right away. We thought it would be fun for the girls to try alligator. It was very chewy but tasted pretty good. There are a few pictures of the girls eating it. We had fun. So inside the restaurant they had this huge aquarium with salt water fish. Emma now wants a Dori fish from finding Nemo. It was awesome. We rode the people mover the rest of the way around and got back into our car and headed back to the hotel so the girls could swim. Kamber and I were on junk food run while Allen and the girls swam in the pool. What a great vacation. We had alot of family time and a lot of laughs...

Spring Break

We decided to go to Detroit to for Spring Break so we could have some family bonding time. We had a great time. We left on Friday and went to a science museum. We arrived there around 4pm and one of the gals there told us that if we waited for and hour we could get in for free. So my frugal husband decided that we were going to hang out for an hour because the price was right. We had a great time but that hour drug on forever. We walked a nature tail and saw a wigwam and another house that we couldn't get into. We laughed and sat on these pig and had a pig race. We saw some naked statues and the girls thought that was really gross. We just laughed about it. So the hour is up and we go in the museum and lets just say that the price was right. We did learn some new things and it was fun to hang with the girls even though they thought it was boring. Good quality family time. We laughed a lot and and the girls even got a new bag and a hat because we filled out our census and sent them in early. Emma was so excited to get a souvenir.

Seussical The Musical

Alissa was in a play a couple of weeks ago
and it was sooo much fun to watch.. I will

So the High school did a production of
Seussical the Musical and Alissa was
cast as a Who( the cutest darn one if
I do say so myself..) and it was sooo much fun
to watch. There was 4 productions and
the whole cast did just an awesome job.. This
is Alissa with on of the High schoolers named
Sam. It was alot of fun. Alissa has been
bitten by the theater bug.. :)

We have some great friends the Keller who invited the girls and I over. We all got a turn to ride on the sled while Darrin pulled us and we all also got a chance to play with there sweet boy Braydon. We had a great day!

Michigan's Adventure

Last weekend we headed for Muskegon and went to Michigan's Adventure. Kamber went to my parents house as she didn't want to go to the park because it was for casted to rain. The girls loved the rides. For most of the day it was cold and rainy but the day ended beautiful. The girls wanted to get a cartoon caricature done of themselves we had fun with that. For some reason these pictures didn't upload very well.. I will try again tomorrow and see if it uploads any better. Needless to say we had a great weekend..

Allen's birthday was last week so he was able to pick what he wanted to do for the weekend. On Friday he went to work and came home to Lauren really sick so I made dinner. He open a couple of presents and we spent a quiet night at home. Saturday morning he woke up to breakfast in bed and then he wanted to spend the day at the beach so we went to Muskegon. We had a beautiful day at the beach with our friends the Openshaws. We went to one of our favorite chili dog places in Muskegon and then headed for home.

My birthday

My day started out with breakfast in bed. Yum Allen fixed my favorite oatmeal and then the girls all started giving me birthday cards. Allen proceeds to hand me this big box all wrapped up. I was very excited to open it and see what was in. To my amazement it was the camera that I have been drooling over at Costco. I was so excited I think that my mouth hung open for like 5 minutes. Allen left for work and the girls and I just hung out while he was gone. I just kind of hung out and read a book for most of the day. Allen gets home from work early on Mondays so we went to a restaurant named Kobe it is my favorite. (It is a Japanese steak house) The girls loved watching them cook the food in front of them and I loved watching them and of course taking pictures with my new camera. We left the restaurant and decided last minute to go and watch a 3-D movie with the girls (Up) it was a lot of fun. It gave Lauren a bad head ache and Madison couldn't see the movie very well with her amblopia. (which is a bummer) All in All it was a wonderful day. I am very grateful for my awesome husband and wonderful girls...

Ok so I am a looser.. I am really having a hard time keeping up with my
blog.. I hope that you all can forgive me. Things that have happened over the past few months are: Madison's baptism, girls getting out of school, going to visit my brother Dave and his sweet family, the girls taking their first plane trip, going to girls camp with Kami, going to activity Day's day camp with the three middle girls, going to Pentwater with some really good friends of ours over the 4th, going to Grandma Smith's to play in her hot tub and injoy the county life (peaceful), hanging out with my family , watching my girls blossom into beautiful young womenand spend time with the love of my life (Allen). Needless to say we have had a great summer already and we are not even half way through..I LOVE SUMMER no schedule and laying out in the sun!!!! I will see what pics Kamber has on this computer so hopefuly I can attatch some pictures.. We love you and really appreciate your love and friendships..

Not much has been going on in the Smith Family lately. The girls start spring break on Friday so we are looking forward to a week off. Lauren has had strep throat for the past 2 week so she has missed some school but other than that we are just doing things from day to day. My brother Dave and his wife Anna just had a baby this last week on Wednesday. They named him Greggson Timothy and we are very excited to add him to our family. He looks a lot like his big brother Jamison.. We love you guys..

We had the privalige to Welcome a new nephew to the Nash family... My youngest brother Tim and his wife Tare had a handsome little boy who they named Landon Timothy Nash. Madison got to go to Muskegon with me because she had went to the eye Dr. that morning and she wouldn't see well enough to go to school so she was pretty lucky to be able to go to Muskegon with me and see Landon before any of her sisters. Well this week our oldest will officially be a teenager. WoW!!! Kamber will be turning 13 on Tuesday and I can't believe how time flies. We are greatful to have such a beautiful, talanted girl. Kamber is doing great this year with straight A's at school and loves to play the viola. She stays after school every day to be in a fiddle group. She is very crafty and loves to have cute things to turn in for her projects. She had been working on this huge project for school in which she had to do a bunch of research on the country of Turkey. She worked on the project for about a month and it turned out awesome. Her teacher kept her board so that she can use it for an example for the up and coming years. She loves to make things look cute. We are so proud of her and she is an amazingly sweet girl. Happy Birthday Kami we love you!!!

We recently went to South Carolina to visit some of our friends for what we called our Whirl wind weekend. We had a blast hanging out with friends, playing at the beach, playing games, hanging out around the camp fire, enjoying the warmer weather, taking a boat ride, watching a couple of dolphins play and the girls really enjoyed playing with hermet crabs because the tide was out. We had just a wonderful time and hope to go home soon..
